Welcome to the Healthcare Leaders Association, Birmingham Chapter

Healthcare Leaders Association of Alabama leads the profession by assisting members through information, education, networking and advocacy. Its core purpose is to continually improve the performance of medical group practice professionals and the organizations they represent.

HLA Birmingham serves the spectrum of physician practices from small to large, plus other health care delivery systems such as management service organizations, integrated delivery systems and ambulatory surgery centers.

The previous organization was founded in 1976 and has continued to be the state's largest and oldest local chapter affiliate with over 200 current members. HLA Birmingham's members are primarily administrators and managers of medical practices, clinics, large and small group practices, and freestanding, hospital affiliated and university affiliated medical groups. HLA Birmingham typically meets nine times a year. HLA Birmingham typically meets at least nine times a year with events that include in person educational luncheons, small group networking events and socials.

Speakers present information on a variety of health related subjects including the latest HITECH and HIPAA rules for compliance; personal & workplace security; fraud & abuse issues; legal & accounting updates for medical groups and roundtable discussions on varying concerns of the healthcare manager.

Job Board

Look for and post jobs on the HLA Birmingham online job board. This service is open to both our members and non-members. As a benefit of HLA Birmingham membership, members may post jobs at no cost.

Alabama Health Policy Summmit

The Alabama Health Policy Summit (2.0) registration is now open. Our exciting program lineup this year includes discussions of the health care landscape from both federal and state representatives, a review of the current status of health care in the state of Alabama by the Alabama Hospital Association, a policy dialogue on telehealth, ethical considerations and policy implications with artificial intelligence, and more.

We hope that you will join us on October 31, 2024 from 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at The Club in Birmingham, Alabama (registration begins at 9:30 a.m). The registration fee is $50.00 for general registration and $35.00 for students. Continuing education will be provided.

Registration fees for Active and Student HLA Birmingham members will be paid on your behalf when you register via this invite.
